An unforgettable evening of seaweed, storytelling, and sustainable seafood at Epilogue Kitchen brought together chefs from Salem and Newport to celebrate Oregon’s coastal bounty—benefitting marine conservation efforts through Oregon Shores.

Local Ocean’s Winter Waters Dinner brought together the next generation of Oregon’s seafood industry for a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. In collaboration with Siletz Valley School’s culinary students, we served a multi-course meal highlighting sustainably sourced seafood from the Oregon Coast.

Newport’s 2025 Seafood & Wine Festival was a feast for the senses! With over 50 wineries, live music, and incredible seafood from local restaurants, festival-goers braved winter storms to indulge in the best of the Oregon Coast. Local Ocean made waves with our pop-up Dungeness crab restaurant and took home 1st place in the chowder competition—again! Here at Local Ocean, we buy a lot of fresh catch. Directly from the docks, sometimes over 6,000 pounds at a time. Fish are filleted and stored a few miles from the restaurant, making the word "local" in our name no idle boast. This is no small feat and requires a lot of space for filleting and freezing local catch.
